The Ultimate Smoothie Bowl

23 October 2017

We love breakfast… and lunch, and dinner, and any other meal! Due to our love of food at Vita, we have decided to share with you our Ultimate Smoothie Bowl that can be enjoyed at any time of the day – not just breakfast!

Smoothie bowls are pretty self-explanatory but can also be pretty impressive. You can create any combo of flavours that you want and then top it with your favourite fruits and other crunchy things like cereal and nuts. It’s like a normal smoothie – but better.

Here are our Vita Ultimate Smoothie Bowls:

Carrot Cake Smoothie Bowl

1 large banana

200ml carrot juice

A handful of ice

4 Vita jujube dates

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 ground cinnamon

A small handful of walnuts

2 tbsp shredded coconut

It’s Smoothie Time:

Blend the banana, carrot juice, ice, 2 of the dates, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth. Transfer to a bowl and top with the walnuts, coconut, remaining 2 dates, and a dusting of cinnamon.

Goji Berry Smoothie Bowl

200ml Greek yoghurt

200ml frozen mixed berries

3 strawberries – halved

85g Vita goji berries

2 tbsp chia seeds

1 kiwi – cut into chunks

It’s Smoothie Time:

Blend together the yoghurt and frozen mixed berries. Pour into a bowl and add the fruit to the top. Sprinkle with the goji berries and chia seeds.

Powerhouse Smoothie Bowl:

You will need:

1 frozen banana

1 avocado

110g spinach

200ml almond milk (you can use whichever milk or milk substitute you fancy)

3 diced figs

1 tsp chia seeds

1 tsp raw granola

1 tbsp Vita goji berries

It’s Smoothie Time:

In a blender, add the banana, avocado, spinach and almond milk. Place the smoothie in a bowl and decorate using your yummy toppings.

Cranberry and Long Yan Rou Smoothie Bowl

You will need:

110g fresh kale

200ml water

110g cranberries

3 bananas

2 oranges

50g longan fruit

It’s Smoothie Time:

Blend the kale and water until smooth. Next add 2 of the bananas, 100g of cranberries and the oranges and blend again. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and top with 1 sliced banana and long yan rou fruit.

Top Tip: Longan fruit is extremely sweet so be careful when popping into your smoothie. We feel it works best with cranberries and it is the perfect balance of sweet and sour.
